Repel® insect repellents
Repel has been an iconic Kiwi brand for over 30 years and remains the top performing New Zealand made insect repellent.
Our DEET and Picaridin based formulas are alcohol free, non-greasy, have a pleasant fragrance, are water resistant and contain antiseptics. They also meet WHO (World Health Organisation) and CDC (Centre for Disease Control) recommendations so you'll have peace of mind knowing you're protected at home or overseas. A recent Australian study confirmed our DEET insect repellents provide 100% protection against Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, the main carrier of Zika, dengue and yellow fever.
So whether you’re travelling, camping, tramping or simply looking for a repellent to use around home, Repel is all you need. Visit our new website for Repel insect repellents at www.repel.co.nz.
Repel Junior Insect Repellent Roll On 50ml (DEET)
Repel Junior Roll-on is a low strength personal insect repellent which is safe enough to be used on infants over 2 months of age. It contains 10% DEET and offers protection for up to 4 hours before the need to re-apply.
Repel Junior has a handy roll-on ball applicator.
Repel Junior will safely and effectively repel mosquitoes, sandflies, fleas, biting flies, ticks and other blood sucking insects. Higher percentages than 40% DEET are considered no more effective and increase the likelihood of irritation and skin rashes.
Repel Insect Repellents should be your product of choice to protect against dengue fever, Zika virus, chikunguya, malaria, Ross River fever, West Nile fever and other diseases transmitted by the bite of infected insects.
PLEASE NOTE: If using on a young child or infant, please do not apply to the hands if the child is likely to suck on them.
IMPORTANT TRAVEL ADVICE
When visiting areas where mosquito borne diseases are endemic, it is recommended that clothing is also treated with Permethrin to ensure complete protection. Permethrin Treated mosquito nets should also be used for sleeping if there is a chance that mosquitoes may be present.
DEET is a strong plasticiser that can distort or harm some plastics, synthetics and other materials. In case of accidental leakage always store DEET-based insect repellents separately in a zip-lock bag before stowing in luggage. When possible, store upright and make sure cap is screwed on tightly. Wash hands after using.
Features and benefits
WATER AND SWEAT RESISTANT
Repel is water and sweat resistant so the effectiveness won’t easily be diminished by water and perspiration. This is important for use in hot and humid environments or when working, exercising, swimming, etc.
DURATION OF PROTECTION & SAFETY
Repel products are created with a special silicon formulation. This silicon works to act as a layer on the skin and supports the DEET. This allows the DEET to fully dissipate allowing improved effectiveness and very importantly, helps to minimise the amount of DEET that is absorbed into the skin.
ALCOHOL FREE – NON-FLAMMABLE – TRAVEL SAFE
With the exception of Repel Super Aerosol, Repel insect repellents contain no alcohol making the products less “drying” to the skin, non-flammable and travel safe. This is extremely important to air travellers and the health conscious.
FORMULATED WITH ANTISEPTICS
Repel contains chloroxylenol, terpineol and lavender oil; all have known antiseptic, antibacterial and antiviral properties. This is especially effective when applying Repel Insect Repellents in tropical areas where antiseptic properties are most useful.
LIGHT, PLEASANT FRAGRANCE & NON GREASY ON THE SKIN
If an insect repellent smells nice it’s more apt to be used. Insect repellents in the “olden days” were nasty; oily and smelly. Not so with Repel! The lavender oil and terpineol both act to enhance the fragrance, as well as offering other benefits.
CONVENIENT HANDS-FREE APPLICATIONS
All Repel insect repellents come in convenient hands-free applications unlike some other gels and lotions which are available which need to be rubbed onto the skin increasing the risk of DEET absorption if hands are not washed thoroughly after application.
